We’ve done a lot of work recently on ROI for Local Search and have come up with some of the best (and most honest) numbers for two different clients that I’ve ever seen in my 30 years of marketing.   Well, I can’t share those numbers but I just read on Google’s Retail Blog one study that comes close.

There are several important points here.   The first is that you can really measure what happens online and get real ROI metrics.  Secondly, Google search really works.  And, Google local search is even better.

Why?  It’s really simple, people searching for something on Google are real prospects and the pay-per-click model means you don’t waste any of your money.  It’s hard to find a 3:1 ROI with any other medium but let me tell you this is lower than the one’s we’ve done.
