Mobile Ads and Your Dealer Channel

Here is an interesting article from the The Wall Street Journal that compares the cost and market for mobile ads.

This chart shows that mobile ads are quite a bargain yet advertisers haven’t put much of their budgets into mobile, according to the article:

This year, research firm eMarketer Inc. projects less than 2% of all U.S. marketing spending, or just $2.6 billion, to go toward mobile advertising. Meanwhile, consumers using smartphones and tablets now generate more than 10% of Internet traffic, according to data provider StatCounter Inc.

As users move to mobile faster than marketers, mobile ad prices are being pushed down. While rates vary widely, on average it costs $2.85 to reach 1,000 iPhone users with a mobile ad, according to mobile-browser firm Opera Software ASAOPERA.OS +2.21% . By comparison, an ad in a national newspaper can cost as much as $50 or $100 for 1,000 viewers, a standard ad-rate metric.

Mobile search advertising is a natural fit for retail advertising as an ad can be shown only to consumers who are looking for your product and are close to one of your better dealers.   The challenge is that most of your dealers don’t know the value of mobile ads nor how to create, host, buy and track mobile ads and mobile landing pages.

That’s where a good online ad building system comes in, one that can make it easy for dealers to take advantage of the value of mobile by helping them create a mobile ad and landing page from your brand approved content and customized with their local story.

We can make this happen for you and your retailers.
