Here is a graph from a recent CMO study about the predicted growth in social media spending.

This is pretty impressive even before you realize that it’s difficult to spend a lot of money on social media because for the most part it’s free of publication costs.

For those of us interested in local market advertising, the big player is Facebook and there is plenty of value in local dealers simply having their own page and marketing aggressively from there.

The challenge isn’t convincing dealers that it’s worth the cost (it’s free),  it’s more about convincing them it’s worth the effort and then giving them the tools to make it effective.

A modern ad builder or marketing portal should have tools to help a dealer create a post to their Facebook page, with a link to a landing page that is loaded with great brand information and a local promotion.  The system should host the landing page and track everything that happens on the page.

When you compare the numbers and the amount of time consumers spend on Facebook as compared to the time they spend reading their local newspaper, it’s imperative that your dealers communicate with your customers on Facebook.
