Consumers Look for Products and Promotions on Retailers’ Social Sites

According to this recent study from Deloitte…

What’s really interesting in this study is that once on a social site consumers are expecting to find product information and promotions.

Reports like this confirm what we hear retailers telling us about how local advertising is changing.  It’s not just about running newspaper ads anymore, they need to have Facebook pages and they need good product and pricing information to put on those pages.  They may call these social sites but retailers know that it is much more than a social encounter, it’s a chance to sell!

The challenge is to get retailers good information about your brand that they can publish (at no cost) to their Facebook page.  The good news is that the technology is here to do just that by adding Facebook formatted content to your current ad builder offering.  Your retailers need it, consumers are looking for it and it’s necessary for you to control your brand online.

It may come as a surprise to some but it is socially acceptable to sell on social sites.
