It didn’t take long for the reports to come out that Google will launch a Groupon type service in the near future. Remember that Groupon turned down a $6 billion dollar offer to sell to Google just a few months ago.
Now Google is testing Google Offers according to a report from Mashable.
According to the report,
This is just another reason why marketers have to rethink local advertising. It’s not just radio, TV and newspaper anymore. There are new, better, faster and cheaper ways to reach local customers. Google Offers may not be for your product category but the point is that you have to help your retailers turn your brand message and their information into digital formats to deliver online. The technology is here to make that happen.
I wonder what the Groupon people think about this.
